Bet On Sports Case Faces Two Hearings on August 1

The Bet On Sports Company will face two hearings on Monday, August 1.

The hearing on the outcome of the Bet On Sports temporary restraining order on their online game sites is scheduled in U.S. District Court in St. Louis.

Meanwhile, the arraignment of David Carruthers will also be heard in St. Louis.

Carruthers was sacked by Bet On Sports as Chief Executive Officer of the gambling company last July 25.

The indictment of Bet On Sports executives has gained media interest as it is one of the largest indictments against online casino interests the U.S has filed a lawsuit against.

In the fiscal year that had ended last February 5, 2006, the Bet On Sports had more than one billion in bets.

Carruthers is one of outspoken supporter of web gambling.

Tim Evans, Carruthers legal counsel, said that they are anticipating agreeable terms on the bail hearing of Carruthers.

The former CEO Carruthers and founder Gary Kaplan, who is still at large, are among the eleven charged with racketeering, fraud and tax evasion.

The U.S government seeks the forfeitire of the more than four billion dollars, computers and cars from the defendants.

U.S. attorney Catherine L. Hanaway, Eastern District of Missouri, said that her office has a good track record of bringing cases against the web gambling companies and firms that hold advertisements for them including the Paypal, Sporting News and Discovery Channel.
